Why I Wrote Attack on Planet Falrus: The Real Origin Story

I’m often asked what inspired me to write Attack on Planet Falrus, and the real answer goes all the way back to when I was 17. At the time, I wasn’t trying to make a masterpiece—I was simply bored and craving a story that felt wholesome, imaginative, and true to my own values. Even with countless books, comics, and TV shows out there (okay, maybe not that much social media back then!), nothing gave me the kind of world I wanted to escape into.

So I built one.

Falrus became a universe I could live in for years: comforting, adventurous, and deeply mine.

And now the question is—is it a world you could live in too?
